Foshan is one of the birthplaces of southern kung fu in
China
. From of
old, Foshan people love kung fu, considering it as part of their life. Nowadays,
Foshan kung fu is not only a pure skill for one’s own
protection or keeping fit, but also the traditional culture with oriental
attractiveness. What is more important is that because of the efforts from all
of you, Foshan kung fu is stepping its pace towards the shortlist of the world intangible
culture heritage.
In August 2008, the Olympic Games will be held in
Beijing
, the capital of
China
. Olympic flames will
illuminate the human civilization. Let’s walk along with the Olympics. Let
Foshan kung fu fly high in the sky.
Foshan kung fu belongs to

belongs to the whole world. My dear friends, please
remember one well-known quotation: all the kung fu practitioners are like a
family! We are acquainted with each other because of kung fu, becoming brothers
and sisters in such a big family.
Solidarity, harmony, justice and loving-peace are good
qualities Chinese kung fu advocated. They are also contributions made by kung
fu culture to the world intangible culture heritage.
Kung fu from every country is human intelligence
gathering. There is no confined of human culture to each country. We hope that
more opportunities can be offered for different types of kung fu to communicate
with and learn from each other. Let’s work together to promote kung fu culture
