    From of old, there was a folk saying of “nan quan bei tui”(“southern boxing and northern kicking”). The Shaolin Monastery is the representative of “bei tui”(“northern kicking”), while Foshan city is famous for the “nan quan”(“southern boxing”).
    Chinwoo Athletic Association of Foshan, which was founded in 1921, is the biggest kung fu association in the south of China. It is regarded as the example in the kung fu field. On August 2007, Chinwoo Athletic Association of Foshan hosted the 1st Kung Fu Culture Fair.     Various types of kung fu gather in the Chinwoo Athletic Association of Foshan. You can learn kung fu here as follows: Wing Chun, Hong Quan, Cailifo Quan, Bai Mei Quan, Long Xing Quan, Tang Lang Quan, Ying Zhua Quan, Jie Quan Dao and Taiji，even Shaolin kung fu and Wudang kung fu. Of course the famous lion performance is also taught here. Kung fu such as Wing Chun, Hong Quan, Cailifo Quan, Bai Mei Quan and Long Xing Quan are very popular among the whole world.
    Foshan kung fu is for practical use but not for performances by adding some jump actions. Chinese traditional kung fu is totally different from the kung fu taught in the PE schools. The latter is mainly for performances and competitions without the value of actual combat, which is known to all.
